I spent far more time trying to decide on a topic for a research paper than I did finding the information. Topics pertaining to my career path or advancement are worthless and non-existent. I do not have a career, I have a job and as I will soon be 60, my opportunities for embarking upon a new career path in this country and financial climate are nil, especially considering the "advancement from within" policies of my company.
It is easy, I'm sure, to judge me for this, I can not stop you and can only mention that you have not walked any part of a mile in my shoes. My responsibilities are first and foremost.
However, I came across a rather interesting article about the new Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" just a few days ago and, in looking for background, found several articles regarding its late delivery and its huge cost overruns which have been attributed, in large part, to Boeing's outsourcing of the project. I found this rather interesting and decided to use this as my research topic.
I spent several years doing pre-employment background investigations and am familiar with internet research. The challenge is in trying to ascertain which articles will present my work in best light to those who will be rating its ultimate worth.
Hi Deb,
